Heatwave Sorrows

A heatwave bringing extreme temperatures has hit North Queensland this week. Temperatures have soared into the high thirties. The weather bureau predicts a few more days of these unbearable conditions. This morning at nine o’clock, the temp was 37 degrees C. and rising. All air-conditioners are running to their maximum and workers are constantly reminded to re-hydrate.

The ovens however are not making it any easier for the employees. Cold ice water, cooling towels and periods in the air conditioning are also being given out at regular intervals to combat the heat.

Lets hope the rest of summer is not as difficult!
